Halong Bay

Jade waters from which emerge pitons trimmed with tropical plants tortured in bonsai, a bewitching silence broken by the cry of a bird. The atmosphere transports you into contemplation. But you are not a passive spectator and the magic of the place encourages big questions.

Some will explain that the tropical rains carve these karstic sugar loaves that you will see, in fact, in many other regions of the North.

But do not think all these comments too rational. All these islands are nothing but the eggs of the Dragon of legends.

Aurora and twilight show unreal scenes. Nomadic fisherfolk live on the bay and gather there in floating villages.

You will come across traditional junk in the less frequented parts of this World Heritage site.
